Assessment and recorded platforms
Using URHIRED AI with HireVue
HireVue is asynchronous: you get a question on screen, a short prep window, and then you record your answer. There is no interviewer watching live, which changes the shape of the problem.
Audio
HireVue plays the question through your system output, so the transcriber can pick it up. Your answer goes through your microphone.
Screen sharing
No screen sharing. HireVue records your webcam and microphone.

- 1
Read the rules of your specific invite
HireVue assessments vary. Some are explicitly monitored. Check what you agreed to before you start.
- 2
Set the answer style to STAR
One-way video questions are almost entirely behavioral, and STAR is the structure scorers look for.
- 3
Position the overlay near your webcam
So your eyes stay close to the camera line rather than tracking to the side of the screen.
- 4
Use the prep window
Most questions give you 30 seconds before recording starts. That is enough to take in a structure, not enough to read a script.

Worth knowing
- Your eyeline is visible on camera. An overlay far from the webcam is obvious in a recorded answer.
- HireVue answers are usually capped at 2–3 minutes. Concise beats complete.
- Some HireVue deployments include monitoring. Read your invite.
