Installation

URHIRED AI runs on macOS 12 or later (Intel and Apple Silicon) and Windows 10 or 11.

Download

Get the current installer from the download page. macOS ships as a .dmg; Windows ships as an .exe installer.

Install on macOS

    Open the .dmg

    Double-click the downloaded file in your Downloads folder.

    Drag to Applications

    Drag the URHIRED AI icon into the Applications folder shortcut in the installer window.

    Open it from Applications

    Because current builds are not code-signed, macOS will warn you the first time. Right-click URHIRED AI in Applications, choose Open, then confirm. You only do this once.

    Grant Screen Recording

    Required for screenshots and OCR. macOS prompts on first capture, or set it manually in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording. Restart the app after enabling it.

    Grant Microphone

    Required for live transcription. System audio is captured through ScreenCaptureKit on macOS, so screen recording permission covers the interviewer's side.
Screen Recording must be enabled before snips and OCR will work.

Install on Windows

    Run the installer

    Windows SmartScreen will warn you on an unsigned build. Click More info, then Run anyway.

    Allow microphone access

    Accept the prompt when it appears — live transcription needs it.
  3. 3

    Allow screen capture

    Accept the desktop-capture prompt so screenshots and OCR work. Windows captures system audio through native output loopback.
  4. 4

    Launch from the Start menu

    On first run you will land on the sign-in screen.
Permissions not sticking?
Open Settings → Permissions inside the app. It runs a diagnostic for microphone, screen capture, and audio routing, and gives you a direct jump to the exact system privacy pane that needs changing.

Sign in

You can sign in with email and password, or with Google or GitHub. Signing in ties your saved setups, interview history, and plan to your account, so the same profile follows you to another machine.

First-launch security warnings
Current builds are unsigned, so both operating systems will flag them on first open. This is expected. Code signing is on the roadmap.
