Google Meet runs in the browser, which makes the share-mode choice matter more than on any other platform. Pick a window or your entire screen — not a tab.
Audio
Meet plays through your system output. Keep capture on System so the transcriber hears the interviewer rather than your own microphone.
Screen sharing
Meet offers 'Your entire screen', 'A window', and 'A tab'. Tab sharing captures the tab's render surface directly and is the one mode where behaviour differs most — avoid it.

Use Chrome or Edge
Meet works best in a Chromium browser. Whichever you use, test the exact combination before an interview that counts.

Start your session first
Launch from the hub, then join the meeting.

Share a window or entire screen
When prompted, choose 'A window' or 'Your entire screen'. Skip 'A tab'.

Dismiss the sharing banner
Chrome shows a floating 'You are sharing your screen' bar. Move it away from the overlay so the two do not overlap.

Verify in the self-view
Meet shows a preview of what you are sharing. Confirm the overlay is absent.

Worth knowing
- Chrome's screen-share notification bar can sit on top of other windows. Drag it to a corner before the interview.
- Meet in a browser means the transcriber still hears the audio through your system output — no extra setup needed.
- If the interviewer sends a Jamboard or Google Doc link, that opens in another tab and does not change your share.
